Solemn Profession
As the saying goes… "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."
Brothers, Kelvin Banda and Isaac Mutelo from Zambia, finally ‘stepped’ into the family of the Dominican Order by making final vows before God and more than fifty congregants from different religious communities and other fraternities during Mass at Emaphetwelweni Dominican Priory on 20th May, 2017 in Pietermaritzburg.
Receiving them into the family was Vice-provincial Br Stan Muyebe OP.
In his inspiring homily, he quoted Vatican II document Decree on Renewal of Religious Life -Perfecate Caritatis (Prefect Love) reminding the two brothers that they are now fully consecrated to God in a special manner through three vows.
He further said the brothers have joined the Order at a difficult but right time when the Dominican Order in Southern Africa needed young brothers who are serious, committed to God and in love with St Dominic.
Congratulations to our two new brothers who are currently in third year theology at St Joseph’s Theological Institute – Cedera.
