Dominicans don’t only teach, they also write books and articles. Some of our brethren in South Africa have published numerous books, not to mention a large number of articles in reviews and journals as well as chapters in published collections of essays. We also write for Catholic newspapers and magazines. This too is a very important way of preaching the Gospel.

Our students are amongst the best at St Joseph’s Theological Institute. At our Priory in Pietermaritzburg we try to give them extra opportunities and training so that they can be excellent Dominicans and sensitive to the situation within which we live. 2015 was the Year of the Family and our students excelled themselves, participating in the first Dominican Study Week which took place from the 13 to 17 July 2015 at the Priory. Our students produced quality presentations which have made us proud. The presentations have been edited and put into a booklet format and makes interesting and inspiring reading.
